Imagine Aliens at the Exploratorium in San Francisco

I can’t adequately express how delighted I am that my PhD thesis project Imagine Aliens has been transformed into an interactive museum exhibit, now featured at the Exploratorium in San Francisco, California. Imagine Aliens is part of the Exploratorium’s Life in Space summer exhibition, which runs from June 11 to September 13, 2026.

At the exhibit, visitors can draw an Imagine Alien card with science prompts about an exoplanet and the life forms that live there, and then draw their own aliens inspired by the cards. I also created a set of stencils with a variety of organic shapes that people can use as alien body parts. While I sketched out the concept and design of the exhibit, the amazing team at the Exploratorium built the pieces and did all the printing. It was a joy to work with people who are this good at their job.

I’ll be at the Exploratorium a few times to give public workshops:
June 11, 2026 – After Dark: Life in Space, and the opening at the Life in Space exhibition
June 13, 2026 – Life in Space Festival
July 23, 2026 – After Dark: Life in Space
July 25, 2026 – Life in Space Festival

Come and see me there!
