imagine: Deconstructing AI Art

Following my recent artistic excursion into the world of AI art with the Exotopia project and the Rogue 45 animation, I’ve become increasingly interested in the implications of creating art with AI. This has led me to become involved with the newly created Applied AI Institute at Concordia University.

I will lead a discussion panel with artists, educators, and researchers to discuss their perspectives on this new technology. What is the lure of AI Art? What are the issues relating to representations of gender and diversity? How may AI art change visual cultures? Is it ethical to use other artists’ work to generate AI art? And, how will these technologies impact creative processes and teaching and learning?

Join me at Concordia’s 4th SPACE for a hands-on workshop using Midjourney, followed by a panel discussion. The event will also be live-streamed.
