Since everything we see in the night sky is made with light (stars, nebulas, galaxy renants, etc.), I used actual electric lights in my Galaxy Lightbox series. I've constructed lightboxes of various sizes which I then painted (glass paints, acrylic media, found objects) and installed halogen lights or lightbulbs on the inside - in fact, I am 'paintig with light'.
The diptych Stellar Evolution depicts a nebula, where stars are born (Cradle) and a supernova remnant, the star death (10-15), thus describing the circle of life - on a stellar scale.
